My work focuses on areas of landscape or other environments in my life at the time. I like to incorporate color into my work and I enjoy how each deliberate color choice can lead the viewer to perceive the landscape differently. This can change someone’s experience with the land and how they see it.
Texture is very important to me. When I create a piece of work I have to think about how I would feel in the landscape and make that feeling come out in the textures and colors that are portrayed in the piece of work. I like the texture to help give the piece a sense of depth when i’m creating it. I take an image I see in my head and I build on that until it is created in that image. Mostly I like to create this hard rock like structure that can be built up on the canvas.
